The Thinker
John G. Young

Not of the heroic age
chiseled in stone
larger than life,
but water on paper,
frontal, naked,
tired, hungry, broke,
in the full Monte
motionless
for rent money,
while eyes trace
t(his
body with pencils,
sketchy, unclear
boundaries,
rough edges
dripping uncertainty,
bespotted in a world
of unkind choices.
